Join us on our social media pages over the next few weeks, in naming the breeding eagles that have made the Delaware Botanic Gardens their home for almost six years, a tribute to our environmentally responsible approach to land stewardship and ecology, carried out by our dedicated staff and volunteers.

Thanks to our supporters, Delaware Botanic Gardens recently reached its fundraising goal to install an Eagle Camera along the gardens' 1,000 feet of Pepper Creek shoreline, where the eagles’ nest is located. The campaign kicked off during Delaware's Do More 24 event on March 7-8, and your generosity has made it possible.

The Eagle Camera designed by HDonTap https://hdontap.com  was installed in late September, by Windows on Wildlife https://www.windowtowildlife.org/ and is now live below. We look forward to the return of the breeding pair soon.

Be sure to stay tuned for live-streaming action as these majestic birds return to their nesting grounds!

February 2025: Update on Eagle Nesting at Delaware Botanic Gardens.

This season, the Eagle nest at Delaware Botanic Gardens has attracted visits from both adult and juvenile eagles, although our resident adult pair has not yet returned to make the nest their home. Nature is unpredictable, and while the reasons for their absence remain unclear, we are optimistic about future activity. Whether it’s a return from the growing Eagle family or the arrival of other nesting birds, we continue to monitor the nest with anticipation.

In the meantime, we encourage visitors to enjoy the breathtaking view over Pepper Creek. If this season does not bring nesting activity, we remain hopeful for next year’s breeding season—after all, nature always has surprises in store!

The Eagle Watch Camera was made possible thanks to generous donors The Drs. Rouben & Violet Jiji Foundation together with Phoebe Craven, and Mike & Sue Masciandaro. In addition to these generous donors, many individual gifts were sent to DBG to support the Eagle camera project.
